Register an existing cleanup or organize a new one...

  • Please register your event. Register with Source to Sea if your event will be in the Connecticut River Watershed. Register with  American Rivers  if you will be working in the rest of Vermont. We'll be sure events are listed in both places if appropriate, and also on our Registered Cleanups page. If you schedule in September, you'll be part of the official Vermont River Cleanup effort.
  • If you aren't quite sure which watershed your river is in, click here to see a map of Vermont's watersheds.
Help for cleanup organizers...
  • Watersheds United Vermont has created an outreach toolkit to assist organizers in publicizing cleanup events.
  • American Rivers  provides a toolkit including a liability release, sample safety speech, volunteer sign in sheet and in-depth organizers' handbook. Source to Sea also provides a best practices sheet, sample waiver forms, sample press releases, an event flyer and more.
  • Groups in the Connecticut River Watershed registered with Source to Sea will receive trash bags and gloves, t-shirts, and trash tally forms. American Rivers will provide cleanup organizers with trash bags (with 4 weeks notice) and a trash tally to report what you collect. Watersheds United Vermont has some funds to provide gloves and first aid kits to those not covered by Source to Sea. Contact watershedsunited@gmail.com if you are interested.
  • August 10, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00pm, WUV and the White River Partnership will host How to Organize a River Cleanup webinar. We will post information on joining the webinar soon. If you have qquestions about organizing a new event, email watershedsunited@gmail.com or call 802-585-3569.

  • Watersheds United Vermont has some funding to help cleanup groups with trash disposal costs. For each event, please submit a copy of your disposal receipt to watershedsunited@gmail.com by Friday, October 7, 2016. The amount reimbursed will be determined at that time based on the submissions and our available funding. Questions? Email watershedsunited@gmail.com or call 802-585-3569.
