Vermont ERP Grant Awards

Vermont's Ecosystem Restoration Program awarded over $1.3 million in the first round of fiscal 2015 ERP grants.  About 23% of funding supports scoping/feasibility studies, 58% implementation, and 19% river corridor protection.  Watersheds United Vermont members and partners receiving grants include (in alphabetical order):
  • Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission (Northfield Stormwater Site Construction);
  • Connecticut River Watershed Council (Upper Wells River Corridor Planning);
  • Friends of the Winooski (Dog River Hydrologic Study for Floodplain and Riparian Restoration Project - with town of Northfield - and Barre Neighborhood Stormwater Management Plan);
  • Memphremagog Watershed Association (Stormwater Treatment Study for the Memphremagog Watershed);
  • Missisquoi River Basin Association (Missisquoi Watershed-Trees for Streams and Northrop Road at Talcott Road Fairfield Ditch Project);
  • Northwoods Stewardship Center (Phosphorus Reduction in the Lake Memphremagog Basin via Buffer Restoration);
  • Poultney-Mettowee NRCD (Flower Brook Stormwater Master Planning and Agricultural Runoff Mitigation Project on a Tributary to Beaver Brook);
  • Vermont Association of Conservation Districts (Portable Skidder Bridge Rental Program and Trees for Streams);
  • Vermont Departments of Fish and Wildlife and Forests, Parks and Recreation (Robert Hayward Parcel Acquisition, Victory);
  • Vermont River Conservancy (Pingree Flats Floodplain and Riparian Restoration; Merck Parcel River Corridor Easement, Nulhegan River; Hurteau River Corridor Easement, Fairfax; Selawsky River Corridor Easement, Wild Branch);
  • Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (Class IV Road Remediation Project);
  • White River NRCD (No-Till Drill Program: Improving Water Quality and Soil Health);
  • White River Partnership (Upper White River Corridor Restoration Project);
  • Winooski NRCD (Absorbing the Storm at Rumney Memorial School and Horse Manure Composting).
