New Tactical Basin Plans Released

During March 2014, Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation, Watershed Management Division released one final and two draft tactical basin plans.  Plans outline key water quality issues in each basin, identify high quality waters deserving of protection, and recommend strategies to improve and protect water quality.  Implementation tables in the plan help guide project funding, so it's important that they reflect key priorities.

The final plan for the Deerfield River and Adjacent Connecticut River was released on March 11.  

The draft plan for South Lake Champlain was released for comment on March 25, with public meetings scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, April, 8, 2014, 5:30 pm at the Pawlet Public Library, 141 School Street, Pawlet, Vermont, 05761
Tuesday, April, 15, 2014, 6:30 pm at the Orwell Free Library, 473 Main St, Orwell, VT 05760
Tuesday April 22, 2014, 2:30 pm at the Bentley Community Center at Green Mountain College, 348 Bentley Avenue, Poultney, VT 05764

The draft plan for the Passumpsic River and Upper Connecticut River was released for comment on March 31, with comments due by May 8.  Public meetings are scheduled as follows:
Thursday, April 17, 2014, 6:00 pm at the Sillvo O. Conte refuge visitor center, 5396 Rte. 105 in Brunswick Vermont
Tuesday, April 22, 2014, 6:00 pm at the Northeastern Vermont Development Association Office, 36 Eastern Avenue in St Johnsbury Vermont.
